Proverbs 28:19
The link between working the land and having bread on the table seems remote for most city dwellers. We don’t grow grains in the backyard, mill the grains into flour and then bake it into bread.
Nevertheless the biblical message is applicable. Those who are dilligent, will not lack a paying job, and will have money to buy food. But those who slack, will have trouble finding a job.
Still the question remains. Should we be working the land still? Adam and Eve were tasked to tend the garden. Should we regard that initial vocation more highly?
Those who take for granted the food available at the supermarket should ponder and do some research on the effects of industrialized farming.
