When God created the world
It has been a while since I opened my Bible and began reading routinely again. My soul has been yearning to read His words and I have been delaying this moment. I took out my yearly Bible plan and to be honest I was not excited in reading Genesis 1 all over again. After all, I knew every thing about it and it' Sunday School's ABC.
To my surprise, the word spoke to me. It invigorate my soul and it sparks a light in my heart. It is true isn't it, that the Bible never gets old. The Holy Spirit used the words to speak to the deepest part of our hearts.
As we get closer to opening up Victoria, which is hopefully the end to the world's longest lockdown in the current COVID situation, my family and I are planning to move to our farm in the North East region. We envisioned ourselves to living there more permanently or at least for longer periods of time. We think this is healthier for us physically, emotionally and hopefully spiritually too. Should there be another lockdown, we prefer to be there, working on the land and having the space for our 4 children to run and explore.
And so, when I read this morning's passages from Genesis, it triggers a vision of what should be our main philosophy in working on the land.
"Let the land produce vegetation: seed bearing plants with seeds in it, according to their various kinds" Genesis 1: 11. How wonderful it is that God made all these plants to produce seeds which later can produce more crops abundantly.
"God bless them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." Genesis 1: 22. God has also thought about the animals and how they too need to be increased in numbers and populate our earth.
We hope that our land can produce abundance of harvest and bear lots of animals as God intended nature to be, we also pray for the plants and animals to be healthy and happy.
As for us, the human? "...so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
As God has given us animals and plants to rule over and consume some for food, we hope to have His blessing to continue this good work. "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." Praise be to our mighty and powerful God who had thought of everything. His plan is perfect for us and His words give life as it is said "God said" and it was made.
