Who can understand your way?

Who can understand your way?

From today’s reading, the question is asked in Proverbs 20:24:
“A man’s steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?”
The writer understands that God determines his steps. And that he is not in control of his own life. But that leaves him wondering, how can he understand where he is going?

The answers is in 1 Corinthians 2:11-12:
“11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.”

So to understand where we are going, we need two things:

1. First we need to understand that God determines our steps. We may make plans but ultimately it is God who decides where we will be.

2. We need the Spirit of God in us. That is we need to be born of the spirit. To put on a new self, and as in Collosians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Have a blessed way.
